A schoolboy was hit by a car and sent flying, only to spring back onto his feet and run off.  

CCTV footage shows the boy running directly into the path of a moving car after only looking to his left as he crossed the road.

The clip starts with the boy, wearing a backpack and trainers, walking along a pavement in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

The car hits him, sending him flying. He skids along the floor before stopping for a brief moment

He waits for a blue car to pass, quickly looks to the left and sprints out.

Almost as soon as he reaches the middle of the road, a white car comes into sight.

He grabs his shoe that came off in the accident before lithely springing to his feet and jogging to the side of the road.

The driver gets out of the car and approaches the boy, appearing to try to calm him down.

Concerned onlookers then quickly rush over to check on him.

He said on social media: ‘The child ran across the road in the wrong place. Thank God he had a backpack on when he hit the road. The driver did not violate any traffic rules.

‘If you have children or grandchildren, please teach them how to cross the road.’ 

There have been no further updates on the boy’s condition.
