Unbeaten French colt Earthlight has been made favourite for what looks like being a vintage edition of Saturday’s Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket.
The Andre Fabre-trainer winner of the Group One Prix Morny Stakes is the 7-4 favourite with Coral but faces a line-up that potentially includes unbeaten Group One Phoenix Stakes winner Siskin and Phoenix Stakes runner-up Monarch of Egypt, Gimcrack and Champagne Stakes winner Threat, Richmond Stakes victor Golden Horde and Mums Tipple who blitzed home at York’s Ebor meeting by 11 lengths.

The two-year-old crop in 2019 already looks above average with Charlie Appleby’s nine-length National Stakes winner Pinatubo putting in one of the best performances for a juvenile in the last 50 years.
David Stevens of Coral said: ‘There are two group one winners in what looks a quality line-up for the Middle Park Stakes and if there is a decisive winner on the back of what Pinatubo has already done the picture for next season’s Classics will look very exciting.’
