An unemployed Romanian man who went to his village pub woke up face down 1,675 miles away in London after betting his friends that he could find work.
Mihai Danciu said the last thing he remembers is going to the pub in Albesti, Romania, with his friends and telling them that he could get a job.
He then woke up face down in the courtyard of a central London building covered in bruises and said he was stunned to hear everyone around him speaking English.
Still recovering from a hangover, he was taken to Whipps Cross Hospital in London, where a Romanian nurse confirmed that he was indeed in London.

The nurse, Adina Costache, then posted his story on a Facebook page for Romanians in the UK in a bid to help him try and work out how he had ended up in the capital.
At this stage he had also been confused and they were not even sure who he was, but his identity was quickly confirmed once the image went online.
She wrote: ‘He was found drunk and it looks like he had been beaten up, he was in a courtyard.
‘He was brought to our hospital, but he told me he doesn’t know anyone in London and he was amazed to find he was no longer in Romania.
‘He has no idea how we got to London. If someone knows him and wants to send me a private message I can pass it on to him. He is admitted to the department where I work.’
Local media in Romania have now taken up the case and confirmed that he was last seen drinking with friends in Albesti and authorities confirmed the story was true.
Neighbours told local TV that the man had lived with his partner and their children in her grandparents home at least until recently, and they knew he was saying he was going to get a job.
But they added he had suddenly vanished over a week ago.

One neighbor said: ‘He was a really nice guy, although of late he hasn’t been himself because he drinks too much.
‘The drink caused him memory loss in the past, so it’s no wonder that he ended up like this.’
Some have joked that the man had gone on a massive bender lasting more than a week, but it is unlikely he would have been allowed to board a plane while drunk, although a bus might have been possible.
Local media said that the man is expected to be helped to get back to Romania by authorities.
