US postal worker found fatally shot in mail truck

  • Dallas Police Department received a call about a shooting at 2.30am Monday
  • A USPS worker was found dead from a bullet wound in their truck
  • Police are investigating if the victim was targeted or just in the wrong place
  • They have not released the name of the victim and no one has been arrested

A United States Postal Service worker has been found fatally shot inside a mail truck along a busy highway. 

Police found the worker’s body inside the 18-wheeler government vehicle early Monday morning on Interstate 30 near Dallas, Texas. 

The Dallas Police Department arrived on the scene at 2.30am after they received a call about the shooting.

Investigators said no arrests have been made and that they’re trying to determine a motive in the shooting.

The worker was driving an 18-wheeler truck and it appeared that the vehicle hit a guardrail on the highway. Police are investigating if the victim was targeted

When police arrived, they found an 18-wheeler USPS truck that appeared to have crashed into the guardrail. The US Postal Service operates a large complex nearby in Dallas.

The driver died before help could arrive. 

Officers are now investigating if the victim was targeted or was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.   

The victim’s name hasn’t been released while the investigation continues.
