A young woman has revealed her go-to dating ‘hack’ but others aren’t convinced and have said it’s simply bizarre.

Singer Elle Winter only dates men named Alex.

She says it makes life easier because she can ‘date multiple people at once and not get confused’.

Elle made a video where she explained it also makes it easier to ‘manoeuvre’ her life because her friends and family only have to remember one name.

‘I dated my first Alex when I was 17,’ she explained.

‘And when we broke up, I was so heartbroken and every time I heard the name Alex, I just get so triggered.

‘Then a few months later, I started coincidentally going on a few dates with this boy named Alex,’ she went on in the now viral TikTok clip.

‘And then suddenly, I was dating another Alex and not only to reclaim that name for myself, associated with this wonderful boy and optimise that relationship.’

She added each Alex seems to ‘fit in with her family and friends’.

‘No one’s gonna confuse me with my ex boyfriend. It was all just Alex.

‘Honestly he felt flattered because everyone was always asking ‘How’s Alex doing?”

When Elle and ‘Alex Two’ broke up, she decided to go on dating apps.

Elle Winter revealed dating men with the same name is the ‘best dating hack’ because you can ‘date multiple people at once and not get confused’

‘I thought “I should continue this trend of only dating boys named Alex”  because I could take multiple people at once and never get them confused.

‘I also didn’t have to come up with elaborate nickname for my friends. It was just Alex one, two, three. It was numerical organisation,’  she added.

Some commented saying the trend was ‘crazy’ and ‘sounded like a trauma response, whereas others joked it wouldn’t work for them as they had a brother or dad called Alex.

‘Reclaim Alex legally change your name to Alex,’ one person said.

‘Imagine your soulmate has another name and you don’t give him a chance,’ commented another.

‘You’re replacing them instead of changing them,’ wrote a third.

Many commented how Elle’s story was eerily similar to the plot of John Green’s novel ‘An Abundance of Katherines’ where a mathematician only dates women names Katherine.

Others joked it was bad dating advice as all people names Alex will get taken.

‘What if everyone only dates Alex and then all the Alex are taken and there’s none left for you,’ said one.

‘My ex is named Neophytos…. I’m not sure I’m finding another,’ added another.

‘I don’t know bestie, sounds like trauma response to me,’ warned a third.

‘It’s gender neutral which is a plus for me, so you may have a point here,’ commented one.

‘My brother dated Alexa, Alexis, Alexandra, and now his step sons name is Alex,’ commented another.

‘Yep you are my dream dude but you have to understand that we can’t be together because of your name,’ added another.

‘I like dating men based on their personality,’ said another.

‘My dad’s name is Alex, don’t think that’s gonna work for me,’ added another.
