Shocking moment SUV ‘deliberately plows into protesters and drives off’ at George Floyd demonstration in California

A driver has been caught on camera knocking demonstrators out of the way with their car.
The incident happened in Bakersfield, California on Friday afternoon when a vehicle deliberately drove into a crowd of protestors who were blocking a road during a demonstration over the death of Minneapolis man George Floyd.
The protestors could be seen standing in the way and then surrounding a grey SUV as it tried to pass through.

At first the car drove slowly through the people but then suddenly sped up knocking at least one person to the floor and forcing the crowd to scatter
Suddenly, the vehicle sped up plowing through the crowd.
One person could be seen falling to the ground and appeared to have been struck by the car.
Across the other side of the country, a similar antagonistic scene was witnessed in Jackson, Mississippi on Friday and showed a white van attempting to pass through the crowds.
At one point, a woman stood directly in front of the vehicle and turns to face the driver, yet the driver continues to move forward.

Despite the confrontation and even more demonstrators stepping out in front, the van begins to speed up.
The activists end up having to jog lightly in order to avoid being completely run over.
Eventually the protestors are forced to jump out of the away and allow the van to pass.
Other cars are also seen driving through the crowd but do not come close to any of the others involved in the demo in footage shot by WJTV.

The protests seen in Jackson are be replicated across the country with similar demonstrations in Denver, Louisville and New York after shocking footage emerged of police officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on Floyd’s neck.
Floyd, 46, could be heard pleading for the officer get off him saying ‘I can’t breathe!’
He was taken to hospital where he died.
On Friday, Officer Chauvin was charged with third-degree murder while other officers involved are also expected to face charges.
George Floyd was filmed Monday begging the Minneapolis cop to stop and telling him he could not breathe before he lost consciousness and later died
