Her stylist previously revealed that Naomi Watts would be pulling out all the stops on her outfits for this year’s Venice Film Festival.
And the actress didn’t disappoint for the first official day of the competition as she attended a photocall for the jurors at Sala Casino in the Italian city on Wednesday.
Making her way to the event alongside fellow juror Christoph Waltz, the 49-year-old actress then posed alongside president of the jury Guillermo Del Toro, and jury members Taika Waititi, Malgorzata Szumowska, Trine Dyrholm, Nicole Garcia, Sylvia Chang and Paolo Genovese.

On September 8, the final day of the festival, Del Toro’s jury will be tasked with handing out the Golden Lion for Best Film, the Silver Lion – Grand Jury Prize, Silver Lion for Best Director, Coppa Volpi for Best Actor, Coppa Volpi for Best Actress, Award for Best Screenplay, the Special Jury Prize and the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best New Young Actor or Actress.
Naomi has been attending Venice Film Festival for years, yet this is her first time at the competition as a juror, so has ensured she has packed the best of her wardrobe for the 12 day affair.
Discussing Naomi’s Venice wardrobe, juror Jeanann Williams told The Hollywood Reporter: ‘My house is flooded with couture right now, and beautiful, amazing, wearable dresses. And I’m going to spend the night at her house, and the kids will all be running around, and I have all these amazing jewels.’

She added that the majority of Naomi’s outfits will be inspired by the 1940s and ’50s, with an emphasis on ‘flowing, comfortable, beautiful gowns, mixed with chic flats and great hats.’
The fashionista explained: ‘Her notes to me were definitely, “I want hats, sunglasses and flats”. Expect to see a lot of the season’s best flats because she’s like, “Jeanann, I’m watching three or four films a day and I need to be comfortable on and off boats”
‘You might see her in a beautiful Valentino gown in the day, but she’s going to wear it with a gladiator sandal or a sneaker.’
Yet hats and flats didn’t make an appearance for the first official photocall of the festival, with Naomi donning a tailored white suit that she teamed with gold court heels.

Whilst Naomi was posing with the jurors, Claire Foy and Ryan Gosling lead the star-studded arrivals at the festival, with the duo co-starring in one of this year’s top contenders.
The 34-year-old Crown star was effortlessly chic in a monochrome beaded midi as she joined the 37-year-old actor arriving the Excelsior Hotel.
Claire and Ryan are set to open the star-studded film showcase with their Neil Armstrong biopic First Man, which has already been tipped for awards glory as it tells the tale of the iconic 1969 moon landing.
Never one to hide away from a glamorous look, Claire showed off her trim figure in the black and white midi which boasted a mixture of beaded stripes and flecked print.

In First Man Claire plays Neil Armstrong’s first wife Janet Shearon who acts as a pillar of support for the spaceman ahead of the Apollo 11 mission, which is famously known as the moment man first set foot on the moon.
Meanwhile Ryan was putting on a casual display in jeans and a blue sweater vest as he jovially arrived at the hotel.
The La La Land star has reunited with the director of that film Damien Chazelle for his role as the iconic astronaut in First Man, with the pair hoping to strike awards glory yet again.

This year’s Venice Film Festival is already shaping up to be a lavish affair, with some of the biggest films this awards season starting their campaigns in the Italian event.
After First Man premieres on opening night, other big films include the latest remake of A Star Is Born, which stars Lady Gaga and is the directorial debut of Hollywood heavyweight Bradley Cooper.
Another controversial option is the remake of the supernatural horror Suspiria starring Fifty Shades’ Dakota Johnson, which has already made headlines due to footage that allegedly ‘traumatised’ some viewers, according Esquire.
