Versace bedsheets and luxury cars: Inside the lavish life of Instagram-famous ‘Muslim soldier’

A self-proclaimed ‘Muslim soldier’ who calls himself Yakiboy has never been one to hide the details of his lavish lifestyle.

The heavily-tattooed Sydney-based gym junkie frequently posts images of fast cars, hard workouts and naked selfies to his 62,000 Instagram followers.

But recent photos reveal the true extent of Yakiboy’s day-to-day decadence – including $180,000 luxury sedans, Versace bed sheets and a lamp fashioned from a gold-plated Beretta handgun worth more than $1800.

He also trumpets motivational mantras such as ‘Don’t expect to see change…. if you don’t make one’ and ‘You’ve only got 3 choices: Give up, Give in or Give it all you’ve got!’

Another more provocative caption reads: ‘You’re sleeping at night, you wake up and find me in your house, my balaclava hiding my face and my RIG FIT undies hiding my anaconda. What you going to do in this situation?’

Yakiboy has previously drawn criticism from a handful of his social media followers, with critics denouncing him as a contradiction to the Muslim faith.

Earlier this year, he shared a Snapchat message that he’d received from a ‘rubbish person’ asking: ‘Are you ever scared that on the day of judgement allah [sic] will ask you about your tattoos?’

‘F**k u [sic],’ Yakiboy replied. ‘Allah (God) watch my inside not like u and all the rubbish people judge anyone with eyes.’

Other followers have suggested Yakiboy’s tattoos are haram, or forbidden by Allah in the Islamic faith.

‘Tatooed [sic], alcohol and Muslim? I don’t think so,’ one commenter posted.

‘I wish you “body build” the brain too mate,’ another wrote.

While Yakiboy has denied being a bikie or a member of any group, he was formerly close friends with underworld kingpin Pasquale Barbaro – who was shot in the head by two hooded hitmen in south-west Sydney in 2016.

Yakiboy later denounced Barbaro after discovering that he was a police informant, or a ‘dog’.

‘My only regret in life was being friends with that dog Pasquale,’ Yakiboy said.

‘I didn’t know he was a dog and that’s why everyone in Australia hated his guts including me.

‘I’m not a bikie or with any group, I don’t have any issue with anyone, I’m a Muslim Shia soldier, always by myself.’

Barbaro, who was murdered outside of a home in Earlwood in November 2016, had ties to the mafia and famously feuded with several Sydney gangsters.

Last year a judge ruled he likely paid off two Brothers 4 Life bosses to kill another crime figure, and he was suspected to be involved in countless other murder and kidnapping plots.

He had served time in jail for drug charges and was on a $350,000 surety when he was killed, left bleeding out on a footpath after screaming ‘open the f***ing door’.

But in the aftermath of his execution-style murder rumours emerged from Sydney’s underworld that Barbaro had been a ‘dog’ – a loathed police informant.

Yakiboy has also raised eyebrows in the past by posing with golden AK-47s and flashing his gold teeth.

He often accompanies gym selfies with motivational mantras such as 'Don’t expect to see change.... if you don’t make one' and 'You’ve only got 3 choices: Give up, Give in or Give it all you’ve got!'

He boasts close to 63,000 followers on Instagram alone, including the Gold Coast chapter of the Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gang.

While Yakiboy does not follow the Bandidos’ Instagram account back, he is a follower of former Bandidos enforcer Toby Mitchell.
