Vic trio charged over failed learning tool

A former Victorian education department deputy secretary is among a trio charged with deception over a failed online learning system for state schools.

The former deputy secretary, a former chief executive and a former general manager have been charged by corruption watchdog IBAC with five counts each of obtaining property by deception over the failed online education portal Ultranet.

The former department deputy secretary faces an additional charge of misconduct in public office. with the trio due to face Melbourne Magistrates Court on July 3.
