A victim of black cab rapist John Worboys says she wants him to die in prison as he is sentenced today after admitting attacks on four more women.

Becki Houlston is convinced she was among the first to fall prey to the sexual predator when he persuaded her to drink champagne spiked with a sedative in the back of his cab.

She does not believe Worboys sexually assaulted her, but still suffers from flashbacks and anxiety knowing she came face to face with the evil rapist.

Bravely waiving her right to anonymity, Becki, 46, single, from Bournemouth, Dorset, said: ‘I want to see him die in prison. This man should never be allowed out. He has shown no remorse and is the worst predator imaginable and I can’t see how anyone would see he is fit for release.’

Worboys will appear at the Old Bailey this morning where he is expected to be jailed for life after admitting four more offences on women between 2000 and 2008.

In June he pleaded guilty to two counts of administering a stupefying or overpowering drug with intent to commit rape or indecent assault – and two counts of administering a substance with intent to commit a sexual offence.

His guilty plea follows a public outcry after he was due to be released having served just eight years after being convicted in 2009 for drugging and sexually assaulting 12 passengers.

A parole board approved his release – much to the anguish of his many victims who were not informed he would soon be free.

Following a backlash – and the resignation of the Parole Board chairman – he was further charged with four offences of drugging women to carry out sexual assault.

More than 80 women came forward to tell police they believed they were victims of the former stripper and adult film star.

She was just 20 in 2007 when he drugged her while driving her back to her East Sheen home from a night out in Chelsea.

Becki is certain she was among the first of his many victims when he was living in the Bournemouth on the south coast.

Although the monster was not charged with any offence relating to Becki, her story has the same chilling pattern as that of his many other victims.

Becki was in her mid-20s when she left a Bournemouth bar in 2002 after a night out with friends.

As she walked towards a taxi rank to get into a local taxi she saw a black cab that usually plied its trade on the streets of London.

‘The cab came towards me and I put my hand out for it to stop,’ said Becki. All the taxis in Bournemouth at that time were yellow so I thought it was unusual. But it was a black cab so thought it would be fine.

‘As soon as I got in the chit chat started and he would not stop.

‘I had a few drinks but was very much sober.

‘When I looked into his rear-view mirror what struck me was his eyes. They reminded me of someone I had once dated.

‘All on the way home he kept on talking and told me he had a win at the casino..With one hand he shoved a plastic cup through the glass partition.

‘I did not want to drink it, but he was so insistent and I took a sip. He kept on talking and when we reached my flat he wanted to top up the cup with more champagne.

‘It tasted absolutely vile and had a bitter taste to it.’

Becki does not believe she was sexually assaulted as she remembers being in her kitchen still clutching the plastic cup she had been given by Worboys.

‘I got out of the taxi and I am pretty sure I had the drink and took it with me and put it on the kitchen sink and went to bed.’

The following morning she woke up with no ill effects and went to work.

Becki, who now works as a therapist treating people for stress and anxiety, though nothing more of the incident until 2009.

‘I saw the news and read about how he gave his victims champagne saying he had won the lottery or had a win in a casino.

‘Then I saw his eyes and it just hit me. I knew then that he had been the taxi driver who had given me the champagne. It sent a chill down me knowing I was that close to him.

‘I started to get flashbacks and developed anxiety about going in taxis. I keep going over what happened all those years ago in my mind. I cling to the lifeline that I had the cup of champagne in my hand when I was home, so nothing could have happened.’

Worboys is thought to have attacked or drugged up to 500 women during a reign of terror lasting 13 years.

Not all were sexually assaulted but most told how he pretended to have won at a casino or lottery and wanted his passengers to celebrate with him.

The spiked drink contained a powerful sedative. One of the 12 women who gave evidence against him at Croydon Crown Court old how she woke to find Worboys raping her.

Police also found a ‘rape kit’ in the back of his taxi which including sleeping tablets, condoms, gloves and an ashtray he used to crush the drugs.

When they woke, many of the victims could not remember what had happened.

As Worboys was being sentenced Becki again buried the incident to the back of her mind for almost another decade.

But in 2018 after learing Worboys, who had by then changed his name to Radford, was set for release she was outraged.

She contacted solicitor Harriet Wistrich who was representing two of his other victims and gave her a statement.

The Met Police who were investigating further crimes asked her to make a statement.

But months later Becki received a letter from the Crown Prosecution Service telling her there was not enough evidence in her case to proceed with a charge against Warboys.

While relieved that she would not have had to give evidence she feels disappointment that his crimes in Bournemouth have not been followed up.

‘When I spoke to the Met Police they said it was up to Dorset Police to investigate, but Dorset Police have told me it is a Met Police investigation.

‘I really feel there are many more victims from this area but it is as if we are the silent ones.

‘I feel nothing but contempt for Worboys. This is a man whose best friend in prison is the killer Levi Bellfied.

‘He should never be released and its disgusting that the Parole Board considered he was safe to be allowed out.’

Becki said she would like to see the law changed so that anyone who administers a drug to knock out his female victim should be charged with rape.

‘The only reason to drug someone is so that another offence can be carried out. There has to be stronger sentencing for sex crimes.
