A teenage gang member has been jailed after posting clips of himself boasting about stealing cars and motorbikes worth more than £100,000 online.

Tyreece Ancel, 19, was jailed for seven years after filming himself joyriding hijacked cars, including a BMW, Mazda and Mini Cooper.

Ancel, a member of the ‘Bristol Bike Takers’, was brought to justice by detectives after sharing the footage.

During one short video Ancel can be seen sawing off a bike lock in one scene and then later heard saying: ‘Repo, repo, all from one house, lovely, lovely, lovely!’

Officers also obtained a record of a phone message Ancel gave to one of his victims in which he said: ‘You sad, sad man.

‘You’re lucky to have your KTM [motorbike]. Can I come and get my crowbar back?

‘This is Bristol Bike Takers and I take everything, even your daughter.’

Ancel, of Bristol, admitted a catalogue of offences and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to steal, conspiracy to burgle, six burglaries and six charges of driving while disqualified.

Bristol Crown Court heard he saw bikes advertised online, went to the addresses of the sellers and took a vast number of vehicles while people were asleep in their homes or away.

Judge William Hart sentenced him to seven years in a Young Offenders Institution yesterday.

He told Ancel: ‘You have a bad record for anyone, particularly for one so young. You have pleaded guilty to offences on a scale rarely encountered.

‘But the hackneyed term a one-man crime wave would be inaccurate. You were the member of a gang.’

The teenager was also banned from driving for five years.

PC Kevin Webb, of Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: ‘This is a really significant result for Operation Remedy and we are delighted that such a serial offender is off the streets of Bristol.

‘We understand Ancel was a key part of a criminal group responsible for many of these crimes and our message to his associates or anyone considering committing similar offences is clear.

‘This will not be tolerated and we will use all resources available to us to apprehend criminals.’
