Video shows Pak N’ Save customers brawl in New Zealand

A shocking brawl at a city supermarket has been caught on camera, just minutes after two men started fighting in the shop’s meat section.

The terrifying fight caused chaos at the Pak’nSave supermarket in Mangere in Auckland’s south on Tuesday night.

Dozens of shoppers stopped collecting their groceries to watch the fight unfold, capturing it on video.

Some people speculated the men were fighting over food – but the reason isn’t made clear during the brawl.

‘I heard they were fighting over the last tray of chicken nibbles,’ said one man.

‘I thought they were fighting over the last slab of corn beef,’ said another.

Children can be heard crying in the video as women scream at the two young men to stop fighting – the cries appear to be ignored with more men joining the fight.

The video shows the moment the fight started with both men, one wearing a black and red shirt, the other in grey, squared off and glaring into each other’s eyes.

The man wearing the black shirt had no shoes on – his thongs had been kicked off in preparation for the fight.

The men started throwing punches and kicks at each other – not making contact.

As the crowd grew louder the fight appeared to escalate.

‘That’s enough,’ one woman cried at the feuding pair.

Moments later a woman stepped in to intervene – grabbing the arms of one of the fighters – but he just dragged her with him as he went after the other man.

The second video opens to chaos in the supermarket, one of the men was shirtless and others appeared to have joined the fight.

A large group can be seen running through the relatively open meat section as children cry in fear at the sight of them.

The fight finishes at the end of the second video with the young men being held back by other shoppers.

One of the shoppers uploaded video of the fight to Facebook – attracting more than 100,000 views in just 15 hours.

The majority of comments condemned the fighting.

‘Fighting in the meat section…this is not UFC,’ said one man.

‘Poor kids shouldn’t be witnessing violence!!! People starving around the world and these acting like animals over here! Go back to the zoo!,’ said another.
