Video shows shoplifters dragging security guard behind car

Police in New Jersey are on the hunt for a trio of female shoplifters who were captured on video dragging a security guard as they sped away from a mall parking lot.

Wayne police say the loss prevention officer approached the women after they were caught stealing items from the Lord and Taylor store at the Willowbrook Mall at around 7.50pm on November 30.

The shocking surveillance footage recorded in the parking lot shows the suspects fleeing in a white Nissan SUV, dragging the security guard behind.

According to investigators, the mall employee hit his head on the pavement and suffered a cut and a concussion. 

One frame in the video shows the victim lying motionless on the ground after losing his grip of the SUV door. Police say he is recovering from his head trauma. 

So far, investigators have not been able to locate the white Nissan, which was a rental with New York registration HFE2593. 

Police in Wayne released images of the wanted women taken inside the shopping center. They were described as ranging in age from 20 to 39 years old, reported NJ.com.  

If apprehended, the trio of suspects will be looking at aggravated assault charges.
