Viola Davis cuts a casual figure as she and husband Julius Tennon take their dog for a walk in LA

Viola Davis looked casual cool as she and husband Julius Tennon were seen taking their dog out for a walk on Sunday in Los Angeles.

The Woman King star, 57, kept warm in a white hoodie with the inscription, ‘A credit to my people’ and a pair of comfortable grey sweatpants.

The Academy Award winner – who stars alongside her husband in the upcoming film Air – paired the ensemble with white sneakers and appeared to go fresh-faced for the stroll.

Meanwhile Julius, 69, sported a black zip-up hoodie, matching pants and a black beanie.

The pair have been married since 2003 and share a 12-year-old daughter named Genesis.

Julius also recently accompanied Viola at the 2023 SXSW Conference and Festivals at The Paramount Theater for the world premiere of their new film Air – where they star as Michael Jordan’s parents James and Deloris.

The couple looked dashing as ever, with Viola wearing a chic all-white ensemble. Meanwhile Julius was her opposite, sporting an all-black suit and dress shoes.

Air has earned rave reviews and even received a standing ovation when it premiered at SXSW over the weekend.

Slated for release on April 5, Air tells the story of the rise of the sneaker brand Air Jordan and is directed by Ben Affleck.

The shoes – produced by American corporation Nike, Inc – were created for Hall of Fame former basketball player Michael Jordan during his time with the Chicago Bulls in 1984 and released to the public on April 1, 1985.

Matt Damon plays sports exec Sonny Vaccaro as he hears about how both sales and growth in Nike’s basketball division are trending downward.

Nike founder Phil Knight, played by Affleck, tells Vaccaro to come up with a pitch for a new shoe, which leads him to have the idea of formulating a brand around upcoming player Michael Jordan.

Viola praised Affleck as a director to the The Hollywood Reporter. The veteran actress called making Air ‘an unbelievable experience that me and my husband and even my hair and makeup team still talk about to this day.’

She continued: ‘Ben’s an auteur and so unbelievably kind and respectful. It was one of our top experiences of being treated the way we felt we deserved to be treated.’

She also spoke about having her husband on set with her in a new interview with Essence, saying: ‘It felt like home, you know?’

Meanwhile Affleck said of directing the couple, ‘When they ran a scene together I was always like, “Just get into it.” Because they’re married, it doesn’t matter what kind of day they’re having or what they do, it’s going to be real. You see two people who can talk to each other by doing this.’

It’s been a great couple month for Davis, who recently reached EGOT status after winning a Grammy for the audiobook performance of her memoir Finding Me.

She also made history as the third black woman to achieve the honor, following Whoopi Goldberg and Jennifer Hudson.

The acronym EGOT refers to entertainers who have earned an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony.

Prior to the annual awards show, Davis had already won an Oscar, two Tonys and an Emmy.
