A violent ex-boyfriend hid in a young mother’s attic for six days to spy on her before he was caught out by the dirty dishes he left in her kitchen.
Amy Birch, 20, from Exeter, was subjected to the terrifying campaign of harassment by her 25-year-old ex, Aaron Chidgey, who has just been jailed for 15 months.
Ms Birch had already moved 10 times to try and avoid him and there were two court orders in place telling him to stay away.

Ms Birch told The Sun’s Fabulous Digital: ‘I was sickened to discover Aaron had been in my home for God knows how long, I had no idea.
‘My fear is that he will stop at nothing to hurt me. I have moved 10 times in the last year to hide from him but he always finds me.’
Ms Birch met Chidgey when she was homeless in Exeter and he offered space in his tent.
They became a couple and soon she had raised enough money for them to rent a flat.
But he began to be abusive and in August 2017 was jailed for seven months for pinning Ms Birch down on the street.

He moved back in after his release and Ms Birch fell pregnant and had a baby.
She said: ‘The next 18 months were a nightmare. Aaron was jailed again for assaulting me. But everywhere I went he followed.’
When Chidgey was in prison again, Ms Birch became pregnant a second time after a fling with a friend.
Several months on, Chidgey had been released, and broke a retraining order for the first time on July 16 when he got into her flat and she spotted him through the window.
A week later, Ms Birch returned from the weekend away and began to notice blankets and pillows going missing and dirty dishes piling up on the sideboards.
Then one day, as she was coming out of the shower, she saw her ex’s legs disappear up a loft hatch.
He was arrested and admitted one count of breaching a restraining order and two of breaching a non-molestation order.
Police found he had managed to get into Ms Birch’s house via the balcony.
He was jailed for 15 months on November 8, at Exeter Crown Court and the restraining order was extended until 2024.
