Vomiting vultures overrun couple’s Florida vacation home

Vomiting and defecating black vultures overrun a New York couple’s $700k Florida vacation home – and leave it smelling like ‘a thousand rotting corpses’

  • They claim they can no longer visit because vomiting and defecating vultures have made it smell so bad
  • The family say the vultures have destroyed their screened enclosures, overtaken the pool and dented their cars with their beaks
  • They estimate they have already caused thousands of dollars worth of damage

A New York couple’s luxurious Florida vacation home has been overrun by dozens of black vultures that have been vomiting and defecating everywhere.

Siobhan and Anthony Casimano bought their $700,000 vacation home in the Ibis Golf and Country Club in Palm Beach four months ago but claim they can no longer visit because it smells so bad.

‘The smell is like a thousand rotting corpses,’ Siobhan told the Palm Beach Post.

‘The vultures just vomit everywhere. Defecating and vomiting. It’s just gross. We can’t even go back down to the house.’

The family say the vultures have destroyed their screened enclosures, overtaken the pool and dented their cars with their beaks.

Her husband Anthony said the vultures have already caused thousands of dollars worth of damage.

The couple said they fear going to the home in case the vultures attack their two-year-old daughter.

Their neighbor Cheryl Katz says she has the same issue.

She said the vultures tore apart her pool enclosure but couldn’t work out how to get out and started attacking each other.

‘Imagine 20 large vultures trapped, biting each other – and they can bite through bones,’ Katz said.

‘They would bang against my windows running away from a bird that was attacking them. Blood was everywhere. It was a vile, vicious, traumatic event.’

Katz said she has put up four fake owls around her home that move and have blinking lights in a bid to scare off the vultures.

‘The vultures chewed the owls apart. They ripped the heads off,’ she said.

Katz said one of the neighbors is to blame because she excessively feeds vultures, which causes the birds to keep returning.

She claims the same neighbor used to wade into the water to feed alligators.

Neighborhood president Gordon Holness said the association is somewhat limited in what they can do because the vultures are migratory birds protected by federal law.

‘We called Fish and Wildlife in to give the lady a warning. We also issued a violation notice. She has to appear in front of our Rules and Compliance Committee and will get a fine,’ he said.
