WA cyclist not wearing helmet collided with garbage truck 

  • A cyclist has serious head injuries after colliding into a garbage truck in Perth 
  • The male was reportedly not wearing a helmet and was rushed to hospital 
  • Truck and bike allegedly collided at Victoria Park intersection Tuesday morning

A cyclist who was not wearing a helmet has been hit by a garbage truck at an intersection. 

Western Australia police spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia the male cyclist collided with the truck at an intersection before 6.30am Tuesday.

The cyclist was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital with serious head injuries who is believed to have bleeding on the brain, 7 News Perth reported.

The collision reportedly took place at a busy intersection in Perth suburb Victoria Park (pictured)

The bike rider was travelling along Albany Highway in Victoria Park, a suburb more than 5km south-east of central Perth.

The male truck driver allegedly turned right onto McMillan Street where the two men collided. 

Police are currently interviewing the truck driver. 

The identity of the cyclist is currently unknown.
