WA P-plater ‘fails breath test’ after crashing his car

  • P-plater crashed his car at 9am on Monday on the Great Northern Highway in WA

A P-plater who rolled his sedan with two young children in the backseat allegedly failed a roadside breath test following the crash.

The 32-year-old man was driving on the Great Northern Highway around 9am on New Year’s Day when police say his Daihatsu Charade drifted into the wrong lane, collided with a tree and rolled over, according to 7News.

The two-year-old boy and three-year-old girl were not injured, but the driver was treated for a serious cut on his face.

It’s alleged the driver failed a preliminary breath test, according to 7News.

Gingin Police, who responded to the crash, tweeted an image of the mangled car on Twitter.

‘Take care on the roads – this could have been much worse,’ they said.

Officers said they received reports from concerned motorists about the man’s driving before the incident.

Anyone else who saw the car driving on the highway are urged to contact police.
