WAG Candice Warner and cricket vice-captain David’s marriage is ‘under strain’

Australian cricket vice-captain Dave Warner was given a 12-month ban from the sport for his involvement in ball-tampering during the Third Test against South Africa.

And sources claim the scandal surrounding Candice Warner’s disgraced cricketer husband’s professional career has caused problems in their personal life too.

A source, who claims to ‘be close’ to the 33-year-old WAG, allegedly told New Idea: ‘I’d be very surprised if this wasn’t putting a huge strain on their marriage.’

The magazine’s insider alleged Candice was furious and livid when news of the ball-tampering broke, storming out of the room to compose herself.

‘Candice couldn’t believe it when she heard that David had been embroiled in a cheating scandal. She just said “how could you?!” She couldn’t believe he’d be so careless,’ Woman’s Day reports.

The mystery ‘source’ also allegedly told the publication that Candice was speechless and worried by how quick things have escalated.

While online trolls have already placed blame on the WAGs, the magazine claims Candice has gone from being cricketing royalty among the woman to being ‘public enemy number one’.

‘As far as Candice is concerned, Dave’s already been at the center of enough controversy in South Africa thanks to the infamous stairwell scuffle, with her name being dragged through the mud as well,’ the source allegedly told the magazine.

The incident occurred last month, with David and Quinton de Kock having a heated confrontation after words were allegedly exchanged about each other’s families.

Candice and David wed in 2015 and share two young children, daughter Ivy Mae, three, and Indi Rae, two.

Daily Mail Australia have reached out to Candice Warner for comment.

Meanwhile, over the weekend Candice said she felt like the scandal was her fault, that her husband turned into a cricket cheat and potentially brought an end to his career.

‘I feel like it’s all my fault and it’s killing me. It’s absolutely killing me,’ Candice told The Daily Telegraph on Saturday.

When asked if Warner, 31, has been affected by the scandal, she said: ‘Without a doubt and that’s the hardest thing to deal with because I feel like it’s all my fault.’

She said her husband has been ‘seriously struggling’ after a month that started with him in an ugly dressing room stoush with Quinton de Kock – allegedly over her fling with Williams.

Comforting her was PR queen Roxy Jacenko, who represents the former ironwoman at her social media influencer agency the Ministry of Talent.

And after the public slammed Roxy for ‘trying to hog the limelight’, she hit back at critics, insisting she is simply helping out a good friend ‘when they are at their lowest point’.

Roxy also confirmed she is not representing Candice Warner ‘in a professional capacity’ amid the Cricket Australia ball-tampering scandal and ‘will continue to support my friend whether people like it or loathe it.’
