Walking dread: Horror fans dress up as terrifying zombie police officers, nurses and even Stormtroopers at comic convention

Hair-raising pictures have been released of horror fans dressing up as zombie police officers, nurses and even a Stormtrooper for the annual Walker Stalker Convention in London.
The idea began as ‘The Walking Dead Experience-Chapter 1’ in 2015 at the Georgia World Congress Center, downtown Atlanta.
Small groups of people were immersed in 10,000 sq ft of sets and special effects designed to scare them in the same way the AMC television show did.
The event followed the show’s plots and began with the night the virus outbreak hits.
As many as 300,000 people attend the conventions across 16 venues worldwide, including: London, Chicago, Cleveland, Nashville, Phoenix, Atlanta, Portland, New Jersey, Sydney and Melbourne.
Actress Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays Sasha Williams in The Walking Dead, said of the event on its website: ‘Walker Stalker has been a blessing. Not only has it served as a way to directly connect with the amazing fans and hear their stories but it has become a great way to reunite with pa st and current cast members on TWD as well as other shows.’
She added: ‘We genuinely look forward to going whenever we can!’
The convention is at ExCeL in Custom House, east London, this weekend.
