Australia’s top ranking jobs all earn more than $80,000 a year with half the salaries on the list averaging $100,000.

Demand for lead teachers have skyrocketed 1,907 percent in the past three years due to a shortage of senior level teachers with leadership experience.

The average base salary for the position is $92,723.

Nurses and carpenters feature in the list too.

Indeed’s Australia managing director Ricky Fritsch said the shortage of tradespeople means those roles were always in high demand.

And that means good career opportunities, he said.

‘Those roles requiring that heavy human element, whether it be skilled tradespeople, medical professionals, including nurses and GPs or teachers working with students at a very personal level, are also less vulnerable to automation and should always remain in demand,’ he said.

He said the boom in data use has resulted major growth in data science.

‘Companies are becoming ever more reliant on the collection and use of data and those with the skills to manage and utilise it are in hot demand,’ Mr Fritsch said.

Skills shortages are driving the demand in most sectors. For health and wellness a lot of the demand for those positions are in regional Australia.
