Waratahs’ Nick Phipps urinated on bar at Sydney’s Woollahra Hotel

A footy star dressed as a cow has reportedly urinated on the bar of a Sydney pub while celebrating his bucks party.

Waratahs halfback Nick Phipps, 29, was kicked out of the Woollahra Hotel in Sydney’s exclusive eastern suburbs shortly before 10pm on Saturday, April 21, when staff reportedly saw him urinate on the front of the bar.

Phipps was celebrating his bucks party, with the Woollahra Hotel the boys’ last stop following a hit of golf and a boat cruise on the Sydney Harbour earlier in the day.

A witness told Fairfax the boys were ‘pretty blind’ by the time they arrived at the hotel.

The raucous night followed an embarrassing 29-0 loss for the Waratahs against the Lions on their home turf on Friday, April 20.

In a statement released by the Waratahs, a spokesperson said the club was ‘aware of an incident involving halfback Nick Phipps’.

‘The matter is being reviewed and while this process is ongoing, the New South Wales Waratahs are unable to comment at this time,’ the spokesperson said.

He was reportedly so apologetic, he phoned publican Ben Lawler to apologise in the days following.

There appeared to be no love lost between the publican and Waritahs’ halfback, as Phipps returned to the pub with his family on Sunday, the day after his wedding.

Phipps married long-term girlfriend Ebony Bamford, a finance specialist with Macquarie Group, in a lavish ceremony in Sydney on Saturday.

Phipps took to Instagram this week to share photos of the couple’s wedding ceremony with his almost 18 thousand followers.
