Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand could be in trouble from the NHL after he put his hand on the neck of an opponent in a game on Thursday night.
Marchand, 36, developed a reputation early in his career, but has largely mellowed out in recent years.
That doesn’t mean he’s unable to return to his old ways – which he did in a game against the Ottawa Senators.
Skating on his way to the bench, Marchand was seen jawing with Senators player Nick Cousins.
Before either player went to their respective areas, Marchand took off his glove and choked Cousins with his bare hand.
A referee was in front of the situation and quickly separated the two players without any further incident.

Marchand, who has a reputation for being a pest, could face further discipline from the league
The NHL has not yet made an announcement about any additional punishment handed down by the Department of Player Safety.
Cousins was a particular thorn in the Bruins side for the past two seasons on the Florida Panthers. He was a great agitator of Boston’s players and Florida managed to beat them twice in the playoffs in back-to-back seasons.
Cousins also won the Stanley Cup with Florida last year – beating the Edmonton Oilers in seven games.
But Boston got one over on him Tuesday with a 2-0 win over the Senators. Goals were scored by Morgan Geekie and star David Pastrnak.
The Bruins have been struggling all season – leading to the firing of coach Jim Montgomery earlier in the campaign.
Currently, they are third in the Atlantic division with 54 points after 50 games. Ottawa is fifth in the division and one point out of a Wild Card spot.
