Watch out Abbie! Ex-Bachelorette star Angie Kent reveals she auditioned to host FBoy Island

Abbie Chatfield is the new host of Binge’s FBoy Island.

But former Bachelorette star Angie Kent claims she once auditioned for the show before Abbie landed the gig.

Speaking on her Two Girls One Pod podcast, Angie, 33, said she feels like Abbie, 27, is a better fit for the show as she’s ‘too old to be surrounded by f**kwits’ now she’s in her thirties.

She added she would be a little ‘triggered’ going on the show after her time on The Bachelorette back in 2019.

‘I was asked to audition for FBoy Island and Abbie got it, but watching it now I don’t think I would have been a good host at all,’ Angie said.

‘To be around that amount of men, I’d be trying to clear their third eye chakras, getting out my sage, giving them free and unwanted therapy, I wouldn’t have been a vibe.’

Her co-host Yvie Jones added: ‘It may have triggered you from the 20 dudes you had to date [on The Bachelorette]’ and Angie agreed.

‘I’m too old too, 30s Angie is in her healing girl era, she’s too old to be surrounded by 24 f**kwits, sorry to say it!’

Angie rose to fame alongside Yvie on Gogglebox before going on to find love with ex Carlin Sterritt on The Bachelorette back in 2019.

She split from her ex Carlin in 2020 after eight months of dating.

She explained on The Secret Weapon podcast they broke up because they were moving in different places emotionally.

Angie previously claimed Carlin had wanted her to look ‘like a Barbie doll’, and even said he refused to adopt an ‘ugly dog’ because it wasn’t ‘aesthetically pleasing’.

‘I’m gonna attract people that I don’t really like, because I don’t like being 48 kilos and drinking too much and having to look like a doll all the time,’ she said on her Nova podcast.

Abbie found herself in the hosting chair for the new 10-part series which will follow three ladies as they attempt to find love out of 24 suitors.

However, the twist is that half of the men are time-wasting ‘f**k boys’ and the other half are genuinely looking for love.

Among those looking for love are DJ Sophie Blackley, occupational therapist Molly O’Halloran, and model Ziara Rae.

Back in April, Abbie’s show was criticised for its lack of ‘body diversity’ after the female cast members were announced.

Abbie, who is known for her progressive views and opposition to ‘diet culture’, praised the ‘incredible women’ taking part in the Binge series – Ziara, Sophie and Molly – in a post shared with her 450,000 Instagram followers.

But some of her fans noted there was no size diversity among the three women, saying it was ‘so sad’ to see a total absence of ‘plus-size’ talent.

‘No body diversity… so sad, babe,’ one person commented.

Abbie soon responded by saying she agreed there should be better representation on the matchmaking show.

‘Unfortunately I don’t control casting in any way, but your comment shows producers of all shows that having body diversity is wanted by the public so I appreciate the comment,’ she wrote.
