After freezing to the spot, he scampered back down the stairs in a clip that left viewers hysterical as they concluded he had ‘s*** himself’.

The video quickly circulated on social media, with one user writing: ‘His little dance gets me at the end when he realises he’s followed through.’

After the clip appeared under the heading ‘Did this West Brom fan cr** himself live on Sky last night?’, Phil Taylor wrote on Facebook ‘this is brilliant’.

Another said on Twitter: ‘Feel sorry for that West Brom fan that s*** himself last night when he goes into work today. Take the day off or rest of the year, you’ll never hear the end of it.’

But some were left concerned by the footage, as one person said: ‘Aww I feel bad for the guy. Maybe he’s got some kind of illness.’

West Brom were 3-0 down just 20 minutes into the game after Josh Brownhill, Andreas Weimann and Jack Hunt scored.

They managed to claw it back to 3-2 but were unable to topple Bristol City and win the match.

But they remain five points ahead of Bristol City and sit fourth in the Championship.
