Sam Allardyce endured a nightmare start to his reign as West Brom manager as Anwar El-Ghazi put visitors Aston Villa ahead with just five minutes of the West Midlands derby played.
Baggies captain Jake Livermore was then sent off during the first half following a late tackle on Villa counterpart Jack Grealish.
The former Bolton, Everton and Sunderland boss has never been relegated as a manager and has been appointed as Slaven Bilic’s successor to avoid the drop once again.
The Baggies are currently second from bottom after securing just seven points from 13 games this season but will face a tough test when they welcome Jack Grealish and Co to the Hawthorns tonight.
