West Ham United sign Paraguayan defender Fabian Balbuena from Corinthians as ‘The General’ gives a salute while posing in new kit
Fabian Balbuena became West Ham United’s seventh summer signing on Saturday as he completed his move from Corinthians.
The 26-year-old follows Issa Diop, Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks, Sebastian Nebyl, Jack Wilshere and Andriy Yarmolenko in joining the Hammers this summer.
Paraguayan centre back Balbuena, nicknamed ‘The General’, was unveiled by West Ham on Twitter.
‘Welcome to West Ham United, @FBalbuenito! #TheGeneralIsHere,’ read a message tweeted above a photo of the 6ft 2in defender saluting while posing in the new West Ham home shirt.
