Seth Ator, 36, has been identified as the shooter who killed seven people and injured 22 others during a spree on Saturday afternoon in Odessa, Texas

The West Texas shooter’s neighbor said he carried a rifle while yelling at her over leaving trash in a nearby dumpster and that he used to shoot animals from his rooftop.

Veronica Alonzo told CNN that Seth Ator, 36, of Ector County, Texas, was her neighbor and that he had gone to her house last month, while carrying a large rifle, to yell at her for leaving garbage in a nearby dumpster.

Ator was identified by on the Odessa Police Department’s Facebook page Sunday as being the gunman who carried out the mass shooting in Odessa, Texas, on Saturday. He was shot and killed by police in the parking lot of the Cinergy movie theater in Odessa that afternoon.

Ator’s shooting spree, which began after a traffic stop, left seven dead, between the ages of 15 to 57. Twenty-two people were injured, including a 17-month-old girl and a police officer.

Alonzo said that she called police over the incident during which Ator yelled at her, but that they did not respond because her home is difficult to locate and doesn’t show up on GPS.

She also said that he often shot animals in his yard while he was up in a structure on top of his home. He would then go and retrieve their corpses later.

Alonzo said that investigators were at Ator’s home Sunday, putting small red flags at various locations outside his property, where she said he would shoot at the animals.

She claimed that Ator didn’t have running water or electricity in his home and that when it was cold, she saw him sitting in his Toyota Camry with the heater on.

Alonzo’s revelations came on the heels of additional shooting victims being identified.

Although authorities have not identified any of the victims, several have been named publicly by family members.

The youngest victim killed was 15-year-old high school student Leila Hernandez, whose loved ones described her as a ‘sweet girl with a big heart’ who recently celebrated her quinceañera.

US Postal Service worker Mary Granados, 29, was shot and killed when the gunman stole her truck as she was delivering mail, according to a coworker.

Hernandez’s brother, Nathan Hernandez, was also said to have been injured during the shooting and is in the hospital, according to a GoFundMe set up for the siblings.

Granados, the 29-year-old US Postal Service worker, was shot and killed when the gunman stole her truck as she was delivering mail and talking to her twin sister, Rosie, on the phone.

The 29-year-old was near the end of her shift Saturday and chatting with her sister when their conversation was abruptly interrupted by the mail carrier’s terrified scream, Rosie told CNN.

‘It was very painful. I just wanted to help her and I couldn’t. I thought she had got [bitten] by a dog or something,’ Rosie Granados told the network. ‘I tried calling her name and she wouldn’t answer.’

Her GoFundMe page has already raised more than $32,000.

Edwin Peregrino, 25, was killed while visiting his parents in Odessa. His relatives told the Washington Post that the family had heard the gunfire, but thought that it was far off.

When he ran into the yard to see what was happening, Ator drove by and fatally shot him.

Joseph Griffith, 40, a teacher, was said to have been killed by Ator while Griffith, his wife and two children were at a stop light.

His sister told the Washington Post that he worked six days a week to support his family, taught math and was known for his sense of humor and ability to impersonate anyone.

Rodolfo (Rudy) Arco, 57, a dad, was identified as one of Ator’s victims on a GoFundMe page, which said that he was shot and instantly killed while driving home from the trucking company he owned in Odessa.

Arco’s sister told the Arizona Republic that he had left his Las Vegas home for Odessa on the one year anniversary of the 2017 Harvest music festival mass shooting there.

‘He felt that Odessa was the place to go,’ Maria Arco told the newspaper. ‘He sold everything in Vegas and moved there, in the hopes that things would be safer for him and the family.’

Kameron Brown was a US Army soldier who had been in Afghanistan. He was also killed in the mass shooting.

Brown, of Brownwood, Texas, was said to have been an employee of Standard Safety & Supply, a first-aid and fire protection service in Odessa, according to a GoFundMe page.

The seventh victim of the mass shooting has not yet been named.

Several of the 22 people who were injured during the shooting spree have also been named by relatives.

The youngest injured was Anderson Davis, a 17-month-old girl who was hit in the face and chest with a bullet fragment, according to her mother.

‘Her vitals are good. She is being flown to Lubbock while we drive. Not getting to fly with her is beyond painful,’ her mother, Kelby Giesler Davis, wrote on the GoFundMe page which has raised over $185,000 as of Sunday evening.

‘Anderson is 17 months old, has shrapnel in her right chest, which thank God is superficial. She has a hole through her bottom lip and tongue and her front teeth were knocked out,’ Davis wrote.

Three members of law enforcement were wounded in the shooting, including Midland Police Officer Zack Owens.

He was on duty when he was shot multiple times in the arm and hand and suffered glass shards in his eye, according to a GoFundMe campaign launched by his family.

Owens’ condition is unknown but it’s said that his most critical injury was the glass in his eye.

A GoFundMe for Texas State Trooper Chuck Pryor said that he was shot in the face. He is said to have undergone surgery on Saturday and is now in stable condition.

The third officer who was injured was said to have James ‘Tom’ Santana, who has a wife ad children, according to a GoFundMe, which stated that he suffered non-critical injuries during the shooting and had to have surgery to remove bullet fragments.

Daniel Munoz, 28, was injured while he was in a car on his way to meet a friend. Shattered car window glass punctured his left shoulder, requiring him to be hospitalized.

He told the Dallas Morning News that he had yielded to a car that was coming off the highway when he noticed that the driver was holding a rifle.

‘This is my street instincts: When a car is approaching you and you see a gun of any type, just get down,’ Munoz told the newspaper, adding that Ator fired three shots at him.

Marián Boado Encinosa, who has a 10-month-old son, was also identified as having been injured during the shooting. According to a GoFundMe, she was shot three times – in the abdomen, chest and elbow.

She is said to have ‘completely lost her elbow’ and will require additional surgeries.

Although police did not have a specific motive for the shooting yet, Odessa Police Chief Michael Gerke said during a news conference Sunday that the shooter ‘showed up at a movie theater which would tend to show his motive.’ He also suggested that more people could’ve died if police hadn’t killed him outside the cinema.

It’s unclear how much ammunition Ator had with him when the shooting spree started and whether the traffic stop inspired, interrupted or altered larger plans he might’ve had for the shootings.

During his news conference, Gerke did confirm that the suspect was a resident of Ector County with a criminal record and that he used an AR-style rifle to carry out the shooting, which left seven dead – ranging in age from 15 to 57 – and 22 injured.

The New York Times reported that Ator had been fired from his trucking job a few hours prior to the shooting, but that officials stressed that they still did not have a motive for the level of and gun power used in the shooting.

Saturday’s active shooter situation began at about 3.15pm CST after Texas Department of Public Safety officers attempted to stop a man who failed to signal on a left turn on Interstate 20.

The driver, who was alone in a gold pickup truck, slowed but did not stop, and fired a rifle through the rear window of the truck, striking one of the two officers.

The shooter fled westbound on the interstate, and shooting at a civilian at east Loop 338 and I-20. The suspect proceeded on a shooting spree as he entered Odessa and stole a mail carrier truck before being cornered at the Cinergy on Highway 191.

Witness video shows police confronting the suspect outside of the theater and engaging in a shootout.

Police initially reported that there could be more than one shooter, but Gerke said authorities now believe it was only one.

‘Once this individual was taken out of the picture, there have been no more victims,’ Gerke said.
