Two men have been killed after their helicopter crashed in regional Western Australia.

The men, aged in their 50s and 70s, had left Koorda on a Robinson 22 helicopter and were headed to Jandakot Airport on Sunday.

Authorities were alerted when the aircraft did not arrive before launching a search mission.

The wreckage of the plane was discovered near Cowcowing Lakes in Booralaming, south-west of Koorda, later that day.
