Pete Doherty stormed the charts with his band The Libertines in the early noughties.
The musician formed the band with Carl Barât in London in 1997 but it wasn’t until 2002 with the release of their debut studio album Up the Bracket that they achieved widespread success.
Singer Pete quit the group in 2004 but the reformed in 2010 and were headliners at Reading and Leeds Festivals that year.
The rockers had another reunion gig in London’s Hyde Park in 2014 and toured in 2016.
And, while Pete may have been known for living it up in London during his band’s heyday, he now lives a much quieter life in rural France.

Where is Pete Doherty now?
Pete still performs with The Libertines to this day and the band released a celebratory version of their debut album, Up the Bracket: 20th Anniversary, on 21 October 2022.
While the group last toured in 2022, their prior reunion gigs did not go too smoothly.
They had a reunion gig in London’s Hyde Park in 2014 and toured the UK in 2016.
However, Pete later dropped out of a show at Camden’s Electric Ballroom after he suffered a panic attack.
While the band are still together, they currently have no live events listed on their website.
Pete has now left the UK for rural France where he lives with his wife Katia de Vidas, who is also his Puta Madres bandmate.

After the release of their debut album in 2002, Pete’s increasing drug problems caused him to become estranged from The Libertines.
Pete later sought treatment for his drug addictions at an alternative detox centre called Wat Tham Krabok, a temple in Thailand which was famous for helping crack and heroin users.
However, he left after three days and returned to the UK, prompting The Libertines to cancel performances they had lined up at at the Isle of Wight and Glastonbury festivals.
While post-production was taking place on the band’s second studio album in 2004, Pete was again asked to leave the band.
The other band members claimed Pete’s continuing drug problems had caused them to ask him to leave but they insisted they would take him back once he had addressed his issues.
They later reformed in 2010.
