The government have announced face coverings and masks will be mandatory for people visiting shops and supermarkets in England from July 24.

If you do not comply, the police have been given powers to enforce measures and you could risk being fined £100. However, this will be reduced to £50 if the fine is paid within 14 days.

Children under the age of 11 and those with certain disabilities will be exempt. Face coverings in shops are already compulsory in Scotland.
