White House mass-emails its Ukraine talking points to DEMOCRATS in Congress instead of Republicans

  • The White House mistakenly sent a mass-email of its talking points on Trump’s call with the Ukrainian president to Democrats
  • The email was intended for House Republicans as the president released an unredacted version of the transcript of his call with Volodymyr Zelesnky
  • A follow-up ‘recall’ email regarding the talking points was then sent to House Democrats
  • The initial email insisted that Trump’s comments during the call with Zelesnky were ‘entirely proper’
  • It also denied that there was any ‘quid pro quo’ on Ukraine probing Joe Biden and his son in exchange for millions in military aid

The White House made a major goof Wednesday when it accidentally sent out its talking points on Donald Trump’s call with the Ukrainian president to House Democrats instead of Republicans.

Sources sent images of the email to a Politico journalist, who reported that the White House then sent a follow-up message to Democrats in an attempt to ‘recall’ the email it unintentionally sent.

The email insisted that what Trump talked about with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a July 25 phone call was ‘entirely proper.’

The president announced Tuesday he had ordered the release of the ‘complete’ transcript of his call with Zelensky as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared – in light of the most recent scandal – that the Democratic-controlled chamber was officially launching an impeachment inquiry into the president.

Another point in the email insisted that the whistle-blower’s complaint was handled properly and that the Office of Legal Counsel at the Justice Department ‘determined that no further action should be taken.’

On Friday, an unnamed whistle-blower alleged that Trump pressured Zelensky during their call to investigate and potentially prosecute political rival Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden in connection to his work with a Ukrainian natural gas firm.

Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire refused to turn over the whistle-blower’s complaint on Congress’ request, citing executive privilege. He is scheduled to appear before the House Intelligence Committee on Thursday.

Trump insists that he never pressured Zelensky during their call, but admitted he brought up Biden and his son when discussing preventing foreign influence, including from the U.S., out of Ukraine.

Hunter Biden was hired by Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings in 2014, when his father was serving as Obama’s vice president. As a board member, Hunter reportedly made $50,000 a month. He cut ties with the company earlier this year.

Burisma Holdings had ties to then-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, a pro-Russia leader, which raised eyebrows. But at the time, the White House insisted that since the vice president’s son was a private citizen, there was no conflict of interest.

It was revealed that just days before Trump’s phone call with Zelesnky, the president ordered a military aid freeze of close to $400 million to Ukraine, which the president asserts was in no way a ‘quid pro quo’ for dirt on Biden.

‘Let’s be clear, there was no quid pro quo for Ukraine to get US aid in exchange for looking into Biden or his son,’ the email intended for House Republicans reads.

Although the unredacted transcript of the call does show that Trump urged Zelensky to probe Biden and to work directly with his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, it does not show Trump trying to tie the military aid to the investigation.

Even though the whistle-blower has no direct knowledge of the conversation, several Democrats who were on the fence about impeachment, began calling for the proceedings after revelations of the nature of the phone call began to emerge last week.

Pelosi, who has been hesitant to say the ‘I-word’ and has said she wouldn’t launch impeachment inquiry unless the numbers were there, finally flipped the switch Tuesday evening.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff said the whistle-blower wants to testify before Congress.
