White House ordered wallpaper from Pennsylvania company

A wallpaper company in Pennsylvania was shocked when it received an order from the White House earlier this month.

So shocked, in fact, that the owners at York Wallcoverings actually thought it was some sort of prank, Fox 43 reported.

It wasn’t, and the company quickly realized they had a long day ahead of them – the White House wanted the wallpaper delivered by 7pm that same day.

And to throw another complication into the mix, the print the White House requested, which was hand picked by the President himself, had been discontinued in 2014.

Though it was a difficult task – the company was up for the challenge, as it meant their wallpaper would hang in the Oval Office.

The wallpaper was part of the extensive White House renovation which included an new HVAC system, a paint touch-up and a total replace of all of the carpeting, among other changes, according to CNN.

Trump spent nearly two weeks at his golf club in Bedminister, New Jersey to allow the renovations to be done.

He reportedly called the White House a ‘real dump’ earlier this summer, though he denies making the comment.

For York Wallcoverings to fill the order in time about 20 employees joined efforts.

They first had to mix all of the inks by hand and spend time exactly matching the cover.

The company then interrupted other work at the plant in West Manchester Township and, as quickly as possible, produced 96 double rolls for the White House.

The production process for a regular order takes at least six hours, but the team managed to get it done in just four.

And that afternoon three company executives – CFO Bob Vucenovic, HR manager Sandy Biss and national sales director Eileen Thomas – set out to hand deliver the paper 95 miles away in Washington.

‘Kudos to our employees for being able to pause what they were dong, get teh colro right the first time and get it done in four hours,’ Vucenovic told USA today.

‘It’s an amazing feat.’

He also said that President Trump hand picked the pattern himself.

President George W Bush had some of their wallpaper in the White House bathroom, and President Obama affixed one of their wall decals during a visit to the youth home.

Delaye said the company is considering bringing back the wallpaper pattern now that it’s in the White House.
