Whitney Port admits she may have a ‘little bit’ of postnatal depression

The Hills alum Whitney Port admitted on Sunday that she might still be suffering from the effects of postnatal depression nearly a year after welcoming her first child.

Around 15 percent of women reportedly suffer from symptoms such as extreme sadness, low energy, anxiety, crying episodes, irritability, and changes in sleeping or eating patterns after they give birth.

‘I think maybe a little bit. Yeah, I think so looking back on it. I think some of it even maybe plagues me still,’ the 33-year-old new mother confessed on her 47-minute YouTube live chat.

‘I don’t think I’m overall depressed, but I think I have some anxieties about things that I don’t need to have anxieties about. But even before I had a baby, I was a pretty anxious person. After losing my dad five years ago, it just brought on a whole slew of issues that I never had.’

The LA-born socialite added: ‘So I became someone I didn’t know that I was going to be and I think that made me a more anxious person and then when you have a kid it adds on a whole other layer of responsibility.’

Elsewhere in Whitney’s bedside chat – which amassed 11K views – she revealed that she still hasn’t decided if she’s having anymore children with husband Tim Rosenman.

‘Everyone says two is insane, and I don’t know if I’m necessarily cut out for that,’ Port said.

‘Tim would like more if he had it his way, but he will support whatever decision I make, kind of, I mean we’ll make the decision together but he wants me to feel fully comfortable with it. So, he’s not going to push me to have more if I’m not ready.’
