But who exactly is Ben Simmons?
The 21-year-old basketballer was born in the suburb of Fitzroy, Melbourne and raised in the city of Newcastle on the New South Wales coast.
He began playing basketball at the age of seven; first represented Australia in basketball when he was 15; and was playing for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA by the time he was 20.

‘That’s some real Kardashian sh*t. And Ben’s not trying to be Kanye [West].’

In 2017, West’s ex-girlfriend and Hollywood actress Amber Rose sparked a brief exchange of seemingly flirtatious messages with Simmons when she commented on one of his photos saying ‘You aight’.
Eagle-eyed fans also noted that the pair had started liking and commenting on each other’s social media posts – a liaison that never materialised into anything official.
