Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig for a fee of £53million.
Nkunku, who finished the 2022-23 Bundesliga campaign as the highest goal scorer with 16 goals, will sign a six-year deal with the Premier League side.
The Frenchman scored 47 goals in 119 Bundesliga appearances for Leipzig in what was a successful stint in Germany for the forward. He has become well-known in recent times for his unique celebration.

Why does Christopher Nkunku celebrate with a balloon?
Nkunku first celebrated with a balloon in his mouth after scoring Leipzig’s first goal in a 4-0 win against Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League back in November.
After the game, many were quick to ask why the Frenchman celebrated with a balloon in his mouth.
The forward revealed that he made a promise to his two-year-old son, saying: ‘The balloon was for my son. He likes balloons.’
Since the strike against Donetsk, the French star has celebrated with a balloon in his mouth on several occasions.
Nkunku brought out his trademark celebration on his final game for the club, scoring Leipzig’s first goal against Eintracht Frankfurt to see Marco Rose’s side win the DFB Cup final 2-0.

When will Nkunku make his Chelsea debut?
Chelsea will headline six Premier League teams heading to the United States in July for a pre-season tournament.
The Blues’ first game in the States will come against Wrexham on Wednesday, July 19, with Nkunku in line to make his debut then.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will then face Brighton, Newcastle and Fulham before facing Borussia Dortmund in Germany in their final pre-season game.
Nkunku could make his competitive debut in Chelsea’s first game of the season against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

After signing with the Premier League side, Nkunku told Chelsea that he believes they are one of the strongest leagues in the world.
‘I am incredibly happy to be joining Chelsea,’ said Nkunku.
