- They have been slammed on social media for interfering with the police car
A huge Lebanese wedding has shut down a Sydney street with the procession of drummers and guests bringing a police car to a standstill as it attempted to drive through.
Footage taken at the weekend shows dozens of wedding guests spilling out onto the road in the city’s west to celebrate the marriage of a couple in Guildford.
Guests, dressed in sneakers, bumbags and t-shirts, danced around a police car as it drove through the procession with its sirens blaring on Guildford Road.
In the video the bride can be seen swaying to the rhythm of the music, completely ignoring the NSW patrol car.
The video, shared by Auburn 2144, has since caused a stir on social media, with viewers slamming the group for holding up officers.
‘Too bad if he got an emergency call as they started to move out of his way,’ one person said.
‘Yeah and imagine they had an emergency to get too. F***ing nuisances,’ said another.
‘What bloody idiots. Get off the road and be decent human beings the world doesn’t revolve around them!’
One woman claimed to live a few houses up the road and said it was ‘ridiculous’ how long the main road was blocked for.
A video shared by Auburn 2144 showed the group of predominantly male guests surround a NSW Highway Patrol car on Guilford Road, during weekend nuptials. Dressed in sneakers, bumbags and t-shirts, the guests flung their hands in the air to the sound of drums
‘Police have better things to do than deal with a bunch of loud blokes on the street dressed like eshays and hipsters,’ another person said.
Others were able to make light of the situation and the extravagant celebration.
‘You hate us cause you aint us.’
‘Your wedding better be this big,’ one person told their friend.
