The world’s top female polo player has said she’d like to see more royal women taking part in the sport.
British polo player Nina Clarkin, 35, said she would like to see a ‘young royal female’ playing in the future – while their husband watches from the sideline.
It comes after Meghan, 37, cheered on husband Prince Harry as he took part in the Sentebale Polo Cup in Berkshire last month.

Polo is a favourite royal past-time, with both Prince William and Harry, as well as their cousin Zara Tindall, regularly taking part in charity matches.
Speaking about her desire to see more female royals playing the sport, Nina told the Telegraph: ‘I hope to see a young royal female in the future playing the polo match and her husband watching from the sideline.

‘My husband does it for me and I think it is completely possible and is probably going to happen.’
Nina explained that the sport is now attracting many more female players, at all levels of the game.
She added: ‘I have been playing a long time now and the number of women in the sport is growing exponentially.’
Meghan has attended the Polo a number of times this year, including the Sentebale charity polo match in Berkshire last month.
She also watched her husband and Prince William take part in the Audi Polo Challenge in Ascot at the end of June, along with friend Serena Williams.
The Duchess of Cambridge has also attended the Polo on numerous occasions in the past, cheering on her husband at the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy in Gloucestershire earlier this year.
While the royal family is known for its love of horses, Kate herself is not believed to be a rider.
However, childhood photographs of Meghan show her horse riding, suggesting that learning to ride wouldn’t be a barrier to her taking up Polo in the future.
