William Tyrrell’s mother Karlie breaks her silence

William Tyrrell’s biological mother says she felt like the ‘worst mum in the world’ when her little boy was abducted – and whoever has him should be shot.

Three-and-a-half years after her little boy was mysteriously snatched from his foster grandmother’s home, Karlie Tyrrell has sat down with Channel Seven’s Melissa Doyle.

‘Whoever has him needs a bullet,’ an emotional Ms Tyrrell said in a preview for the network’s Sunday Night program.

Daily Mail Australia understands William’s mother has been under contract with Seven for some time.

In the brief clip, Ms Tyrrell is also quoted saying ‘they were responsible and they failed’.

The network did not specify who she was referring to, but it is known Ms Tyrrell has strong feelings about his foster parents and Family and Community Services.

William’s foster parents took custody of him when he was a toddler.

He was at their relative’s home in Kendall, on the NSW North Coast, when he disappeared in September 2014.

The foster family, from Sydney’s upper north shore, have long asked not to be identified.

The public only learned last year that William was a foster child after a court order lifted restrictions on his identity.

William’s biological father, Brendan Collins, is behind bars for offences including stealing.

Ms Tyrrell has had a troubled relationship with the law. Her criminal record includes a range of petty crimes.

In January, she pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer by spitting in a female cop’s face during a shopping centre fracas before Christmas last year.

Ms Tyrrell blamed a ‘panic attack’ for the incident, where she screamed ‘Ryde cops lost my son’ at officers. She will be sentenced on March 19.
