Willie Garson remembered by his Sex and the City castmates Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall, and more

The celebrity tributes poured in Tuesday after news of Sex and the City alum Willie Garson’s passing at age 57, including from his longtime castmate Cynthia Nixon.

‘So deeply, deeply sad we have lost @Willie.Garson. We all loved him and adored working with him,’ the 55-year-old Emmy winner – who plays attorney Miranda Hobbes – wrote.

‘He was endlessly funny on-screen and in real life. He was a source of light, friendship and show business lore. He was a consummate professional – always. My heart goes out to his son, @Nathen_Garson. Nathen, I hope you know how much he loved you and how proud he was to be your dad.’

Kim Cattrall – who played PR exec Samantha Jones – tweeted a pic of the pair from season one captioned: ‘Such sad news and a terribly sad loss to the SATC family. Our condolences and RIP dear Willie xo.’

SATC executive producer Michael Patrick King called the New Jersey native ‘amazing’ and said his ‘spirit and his dedication to his craft was present every day filming And Just Like That.’

‘He was there – giving us his all – even while he was sick,’ the 67-year-old Emmy-winning director told Variety in a statement.

‘His multitude of gifts as an actor and person will be missed by everyone. In this sad, dark moment we are comforted by our memory of his joy and light.’

A year ago, the Big Mouth actor shot his role as Willie in Duke Van Patten’s indie pilot Duke of the Valley, but it’s unclear if that was ever picked up.

Willie was also known for his small-screen roles in White Collar, Twin Peaks, Hawaii Five-0, Stargate SG-1, NYPD Blue, and Supergirl.

And Garson acted in films like Little Manhattan, Untamed Heart, There’s Something About Mary, Soapdish, Groundhog Day, Being John Malkovich, and Freaky Friday.
