Win the world’s ultimate dinner for just two dollars

They say you’ve got to speculate to accumulate – but sometimes, not by much, as a new competition proves.

It’s offering entrants the chance to win a stunning, once-in-a-lifetime prize of epic proportions – in exchange for a mere $2 (£1.50) entry fee.

The eye-popping draw, by jewellery retailer V Diamonds, will see the lucky winner receive a $2million (£1.5million), 18-course dinner by Michelin-starred Singapore restaurant Jaan, served on board a $30million (£22million) private jet as it flies above Asia.

The experience actually begins with a first-class flight to Singapore, the departure point for the private plane.

Packed with vintage wines and two pairs of diamond chopsticks worth $34,000 (£25,000), which are then gifted to the two VIP guests, the Bombardier CL605 aircraft will take off from Changi Airport and circle the country for an exclusive four-hour flight.

This will allow guests to luxuriate over their food, which will be prepared by Jaan’s culinary chief, British chef Kirk Westaway.

Back on the ground, the passengers will then enjoy a Rolls-Royce journey to a local marina, where they’ll be guided onto a luxury yacht for their own bespoke boating experience.

Adding further indulgence, they’ll be moored before their own personal fireworks display.

Then, upping the ante even further, they’ll be whisked away to the presidential suite of a five-star hotel, either The Fairmont or Swissôtel The Stamford, whichever the winner prefers.

And, throughout the magical experience, they will also be progressively presented with 10,000 roses for maximum romance.

The winner will dine with chopsticks worth $34,000 (£25,000)

As if that wasn’t enough, the draw’s entry ‘ticket’ is almost as impressive as the prize itself.

Those entering the competition are asked to pay between $2-3 for a fragment of a 2.08 carat fancy vivid blue diamond called the Jane Seymour, which is inspired and endorsed by the Bond actress.

Each fragment gives every entrant one chance of winning the prize.

In July 2016 it formed part of a marriage proposal package by diamond mining company World of Diamonds Group, based in Russia, as previously reported by MailOnline. It was purchased by V Diamonds founder Ville Oehman for $2million (£1.5million) in October 2017.

But Mr Oehman decided to offer the gift to those less fortunate – and use it as the basis for his own, upgraded competition.

The 41-year-old entrepreneur, who is originally from Finland but now lives in Singapore, said: ‘Blue diamonds are all about luxury and as we will be offering anyone access to this luxury asset class, the ultimate dinner should reflect this and remain available for anyone.’

A two-minute trailer for the competition has raised eyebrows with its nod to opulence.

It opens with a close-up shot of the aforementioned ring, before cutting to the sight of a private yacht.

Instructing people to ‘imagine winning the ultimate dining experience with your loved one’, it then moves to an iconic Rolls-Royce pulling up with a chauffeur, before the camera pans sideways into the kitchen of Jaan.

Suddenly, a freshly polished private jet appears in a hangar. The viewer is invited on board, where rose petals are strewn throughout the cabin and a table-for-two is romantically decorated for dinner.

  • The winner of the contest will be announced in 2018.
