Winnie Harlow talks about how fame gives her ‘anxiety’ as she covers Elle Canada with Stephan James

She first stepped into the spotlight as a contestant on America’s Next Top Model.

But Winnie Harlow still struggles with fame, as she explained to Elle Canada in their September issue, where she shares the cover with actor Stephan James.

‘No matter where I go in the world, whenever people are screaming or anything like that, I actually get anxiety from it…I almost get kind of scared,’ the 25-year-old bombshell revealed.

Overwhelmed: Winnie Harlow admitted she still gets extreme anxiety while talking to fans during an interview for Elle Canada’s September issue, where she shares the cover with actor Stephan James

‘I think that people forget that we are strangers,’ she went on, ‘It’s never going to be normal for people to be screaming.’

The Canadian beauty, who has the skin condition vitiligo, said she’s still not used to people asking for snapshots, especially when she’s not done up.

‘I’ll never get used to people always wanting pictures. Sometimes I want to wear my [hair] bonnet to the drugstore and pick up tampons. I don’t want to have to—have to—get ready and do my hair, do my makeup. Nobody wants to. You want to just walk outside without a bra…and go pick up some chips,’ she said.

The star was also frank about her outspoken style, telling the magazine:  ‘I’d rather go to sleep being proud that I stood up for myself and didn’t put myself in an uncomfortable situation—at work, in a relationship, whatever part of my life.

‘I’ve realized that my happiness and my opinion of myself are more important than whatever anyone else has to say.’

She first kicked off her birthday celebrations this week by partying the night away at a Jennifer Lopez concert.

Then the beauty topped off turning 25 with an extravagant bash which included bucketfuls of champagne, celebrity guests and a decadent cake at Story nightclub Saturday.

The Canadian supermodel ensured all eyes were on her at the soirée, as she showed off her slender physique in a sparkling silver leotard dripping with diamantés and rhinestones.
