Wives of twin brothers in Michigan both give birth to their first child on the SAME DAY

The wives of twin brothers in Michigan both gave birth on the same day to their first children.

Joshua Thorington and his wife, Denise, welcomed their son, Jack, at 4.18am on Tuesday at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan.

The 33-year-old twin was surprised, though, when he didn’t hear anything back from his brother about visiting his new child.

But an hour later, Justin Thorington texted his twin brother to inform him that he too was at the same hospital because his wife, Alex Raphael, had gone into labor.

‘Then he’s like, ‘Hey, we’ll come see you, but just so you know, Alex is in labor. And you’re the only ones who know, so don’t tell anyone’,’ Josh said to WPBN.

‘I think they didn’t want to steal our thunder, but we didn’t care.’

Justin and Alex welcomed their daughter, Lucy, into the world at 11.43pm on the same day.

Both children being born on the same day was unexpected because the wives’ due dates were two week apart.

Denise was expected to be due on March 25, while Alex was due on April 8. But on March 27, the two children were born with just 19 hours between each other.

The two moms said that being pregnant around the same time helped them manage the pregnancy.

‘It was really nice,’ Alex said. ‘I think it brought us closer together, especially Denise and me.’

Both families said it was possible that they could have some joint birthday parties in the future for Jack and Lucy.

Justin and Josh live close to each other in Northern Michigan and expect their children to be close as they grow up.
