- Serious crash at Thirroul near Wollongong between track and car
A truck and car have collided on a NSW highway overpass leaving one man dead and three others fighting for life.
Emergency crews were called to Lawrence Hargrave Dr at Thirroul in northern Wollongong, about an hour south of Sydney, about 2pm on Friday.
Authorities have confirmed on man has died and three other people, including a woman in her 30s, have been rushed to hospital in critical conditions.

One woman was airlifted to St George Hospital suffering head injuries
Two other men in the truck were rushed to hospital with serious injuries
The woman is in a critical condition and is being treated for head injuries after being airlifted to St George Hospital.
Two men were rushed to Westmead Hospital and Liverpool Hospital in critical conditions.
It is understood the woman had been alone in the car and the three men were in the truck.
The men were thrown through the truck’s windshield during the collision and one was trapped under the truck for more than an hour before being freed.
Emergency services found the man who was killed below the overpass.
Nine ambulances and three rescue helicopters were dispatched to the scene.
The highway is expected to remain closed until well into Friday night and commuters are asked to avoid the area.
The Crash Investigation Unit has commenced an investigation.
