Woman, 26, is arrested after ‘stabbing to death her mother and critically injuring her young brother’

A woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her mother to death and critically wounding her brother in the presence of his young children in California.
Officials have said the mother and daughter, both from New Orleans, were visiting the 24-year-old man in Vallejo, California, when the violence erupted early Sunday morning.
Officers with the Solano County Sheriff’s Office responded to the man’s home in the 100 block of Byron Street after getting a 911 call just before 8am, KRON4.

Officers found the man outside his residence suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
The man’s 49-year-old mother was discovered inside the home with at least one stab wound and was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced.
Her 26-year-old daughter, who is suspected of attacking her family, also suffered from apparent stab wounds and was listed in stable condition.
The woman now faces charges of murder and attempted murder stemming from the incident.
As of Monday morning, no names have been released to the public pending notification of next of kin.
The injured man’s children, described as an infant and a three-year-old, were present inside the home during the bloody attack. They were unharmed.
