Woman, 34, suspected of driving under the influence told police that she was just ordering food

Drunk driver, 34, is heard slurring her words as she is arrested while trying to order food at a Drive-thru (and she admits she ‘DOESN’T know’ how vehicle got there)

  • The 34-year-old woman from Toronto had been sitting in her car at a fast food restaurant at Keele Street and Highway 7 in Vaughan on Friday morning 
  • An employee told police that the driver would not move from her spot in the drive-thru and added that she had not ordered any food while there
  • When asked for her identification, the woman repeatedly told officers that she did not have her ID and that she just wanted some food
  • She also claimed to have not been driving at all
  • Police had her do a breathalyzer test and found that she had consumed over the legal limit 
  • The woman was charged with impaired operation of a vehicle and was the 26 person charged with the offense on that particular weekend

A woman suspected of driving while in impaired in Canada tried to avoid arrest by claiming that she wasn’t driving, even though she was seated in the driver-seat at an area drive-thru. 

The 34-year-old woman from Toronto had been sitting in her car at a fast food restaurant at Keele Street and Highway 7 in Vaughan when the York Regional Police arrived to the scene.

An employee told police that the driver would not move from her spot in the drive-thru and added that she had not ordered any food while there, police said in a release.

Police approached the woman in her Toyota Prius and asked her to get back into her vehicle before asking for her identification. 

Footage shows the woman engaged with police during the August 2 confrontation. 

The driver states that she does not have any form of identification on her and she can be heard asking the officer why she is asking for it. 

The officer informs her that they were called to the scene and needed to see her identification as she was operating the vehicle. 

‘I wasn’t driving. I was just ordering some food,’ the woman asserts to the officer.

The officer asks the woman how the vehicle was even able to get there if she wasn’t driving. 

But the driver continuously says that she is just ordering some food. 

When asked if she has any drugs or alcohol, the driver says ‘no.’ 

The two continue to go back and forth with the woman emphasizing that her plight was for food.  She soon grows tired of the officer’s questions and insistence for her ID. 

‘I don’t have to if I don’t, like, have to,’ she claims.

And soon she finally admits that she was indeed the person driving in the vehicle.  

‘I obviously drove, But like I wasn’t ready to drive anywhere further,’ she shares.
