Yvonne Serrano, 51, called police at 5.55am on Saturday
A 51-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly shooting a 21-year-old woman and dumping her out on her driveway following a night out in Florida.
Yvonne Serrano called police at 5.55am Saturday to say there was a woman in front of her Coral Springs home.
She told officers she did not know Daniela Tabares Maya but later said that she did.
Police discovered Maya, one foot hanging in the open door of a Nissan Kicks SUV, lying on her back with a bullet hole through her forehead.
Serrano and Maya had seen the 21 Bridges movie at around 7.30pm as part of a group who knew each other from the gym, before they all headed to the World of Beer pub, an affidavit obtained by ABC said.
The pair were ‘conversing, laughing and drinking for several hours,’ the court document said.
Friends of Maya posted on Facebook after learning of her death. Megan Davies wrote: ‘My gym lost a piece of our familia today in Daniela. One of our youngest gym members, she was as beautiful as she was kind, funny, sassy and hard working.’
Detectives were called to Serrano’s home at 1659 NW 100th Drive, in Coral Springs, Florida
A friend of Maya’s told the Sun Sentinel she got a text from her at 1.25am saying: ‘I’m taking Yvonne home.’
Serrano and Maya were filmed by surveillance cameras leaving the pub together and further footage showed them pulling into Serrano’s drive at 2am.
When detectives arrived later in the morning, Serrano told them she had left the house to go to the gym but called the police ‘immediately’ upon finding the body.
She said she had ‘blacked out’ at World of Beer and had no idea how she got home when she woke up in her bed.
Investigators found she had recently washed a dark tank top and also deleted Ring video footage filmed on a smart doorbell.
Serrano has a concealed carry permit and owns three handguns. Two 9mm pistols and a .45 caliber one.
She also told police said she had taken her Sig Sauer P365 to the pub. The gun, which was in Serrano’s bedroom, fires 9mm rounds.
The shell casing outside Maya’s Nissan came from a 9mm round.

‘I’m at a loss for words. She will be missed terribly. Please consider donating to her family if you can.’
Serrano has been charged with tampering or fabricating physical evidence and second-degree murder and is being held at Broward County Jail.
