Incredible dash cam footage has emerged of the horrifying moment a woman and her baby were almost mowed down by an out of control semi-trailer.

Forced to flee for her life while carrying her child, the pair were lucky to escape unharmed in the near-death experience in Ha Long City on Vietnam’s northern coast on Monday morning.

Moments before the dramatic collision, the woman was on the side on the road helping her child out of the car when a truck travelling on the other side of Highway 18 veered out of control and crashed through the concrete barrier into oncoming traffic.

The truck took out three cars in its path before it hurtled towards the terrified mum standing on the side of road clutching her baby.

With debris from the smashed vehicles flying around them, the pair avoid being crushed by the truck by centimetres as the mother flees to safety.

The dramatic footage has since gone viral on YouTube.

‘Gives Usain Bolt a run for his money!’ a person commented.

Another added: ‘Just a half second longer and she wouldn’t be safe.’

A motorist in the silver Toyota Vios also managed to escape from his car unharmed moments after the crash.

Three cars were severely damaged, one of which was thrown into a roadside pit, newspaper Kenh14 reported.

No one was injured in the incident but there were traffic delays while the chaos was cleared.
