A South Carolina woman has been arrested for allegedly licking her hands and touching food items and surfaces at a grocery store and sandwich shop.
Shenir Gibson Holliday, 38, was taken into custody on Saturday after Sumter police responded to reports of a suspicious person at an IGA grocery store.
Police said in a statement that surveillance footage from the store on Pinewood Road showed Holliday licking her hands and coughing before touching food items and freezer doors.
She also was seen doing the same in the dry food section of the store, according to police.
The incident comes less than a week after the manager of the Sub Station II sandwich shop on Peach Orchard Road said a woman was caught on surveillance video inside the business licking coins and putting them back in the shop’s tip jar, according to an incident report.
On April 27, Holliday was getting food at a Sub Station II station sandwich shop in Sumter, South Carolina, when she was caught on video licking her hands
She then proceeded to rifle through a display of bagged potato chips
Store manager said Holliday grabbed coins from the tip jar, licked them, them put them back in the container
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office on Friday released the revolting video from the sub shop dated April 27 showing a woman dressed in a partially unzipped jumpsuit revealing her bra, who was later identified as Holliday.
The woman in the video is shown licking her palms, rifling through a display of bagged potato chips, and placing coins in her mouth before putting them back in the tip jar.
The shop’s manager confirmed the woman also licked her hands before handing money over to the clerk and touched the shop’s debit card machine.
Deputies said the woman exited the store before the workers were done making her food and told them ‘it’s in God’s hands now.’
Holliday left without her order after telling sub shop staff, ‘it’s in God’s hands now’
On May 2, Holliday was at this IGA supermarket when she was allegedly caught on video coughing and licking her hands before touching freezer handles and food items
Deputies did not find her at the shop when they arrived after that incident.
Holliday was put on a trespass notice for all Sub Station II sandwich shops and charged with aggravated breach of peace and food tampering. She is being held at a detention center on a $100,000 bond.
She was also issued a violation citation for the state’s home or work order and was ordered to be tested for the coronavirus.
