A woman has been caught on dramatic dashcam footage being clipped by a four-wheel-drive as she walks across a busy highway.

She walks into the back of the car but does not continue moving, shuffling across the road as cars slow down around her.

The incident occurred on Friday afternoon on an unidentifiable highway in Australia and filmed by a car following the white four-wheel-drive.

The woman can be seen walking directly out towards the Ford Explorer as it swerves into the next lane to avoid her.

A voice can be heard screaming ‘oh my god’ as the collision nearly occurs, before pulling over to check on the woman who continues to walk across the highway.

She seems undaunted and unaware of the severity of the incident and how close she came to catastrophe as she walks to the footpath

An older couple was reportedly driving the four-wheel-drive and were shaken up by the incident, believing they may have run over the woman.

The owner of the dashcam say they confronted the woman who told them she didn’t speak English and didn’t see the car.

They have informed police of the incident who are trying to find the woman to check on her welfare.
